Scooting Around?

Mogo’s

Full Service – That’s Mogo’s!

Mogo’s Scooters is a full service Scooter Rental and Sales Business located in the Tybee Oaks Shopping Village right next to Hucapoos.

They rent one and two passenger mopeds and provide complete training andinstruction free of charge.  They also have six, 49cc “Scoot Coupes” in a variety of bright colors.

These scooters are very easy to operate and balance is not an issue as they have two wheels in the front and one in back – perfect for riding the back roads and carrying children. They are also enclosed.

In addition Mogo’s has the famous 3-wheel Spider that looks like a dune buggy.  The Spider is an island favorite – it has three wheels like the coupe, but drives like a car with a steering wheel and foot pedals for gas and brakes.

Mogo’s also carries a few electric bikes called E+ Electric Bicycles. These have a range of 20 miles on one charge and will go about 25 MPH.   This line comes in several models “The City” and the “Beach Cruiser.”  All models can be ridden manually or powered, and will recharge while you pedal.

The company has hourly, daily and weekly rates. In addition to rentals they also sell Electric Bikes, Scooters, ATV’s, UTV’s, Motorcycles, and dirt bikes from 49cc to 600cc.    They only sell high quality products from companies who stand behind their products with warranties and full service parts.

Mogo’s has an on-site, full-time service department and can repair any scooter by any manufacturer including motorcycles and mobility scooters.   They also service out-of-area customers on vacation and those who buy online by shipping parts or recommending a local service team.

Mogo’s Scooters is proud to be starting it’s third year in business on Tybee Island, owned and operated by Gordon and Maureen Grindstaff, full time residents.  Gordon, a certified mechanic can repair just about anything. They’re open year round seven (7) days a week, weather permitting, but winter and summer hours vary so call ahead. They ship anywhere in the US., too, and in some instances offer FREE SHIPPING.

This is the most unprofesional business I have ever dealt with. I owned a sign shop in their area. I made graphics for all of their scooters. I even delivered them myself. They were supposed to pay me the next day. I was told their accountant would mail the check. I waited and waited. I started calling them once a month. Each time I was told I would get the check next week. It’s now been over 2 years. Still no check. They owe me just under $400.00.

What a garbage company these individuals are. I purchased a scooter from them. They deliver the wrong scooter to my house. The scooter had a broken odometer. I agreed to keep the scooter if they fixed the odometer. During this whole process the scooter would not start and I had to leave it downtown for nearly a week and had to have my fiance pick me up. It took the idiot owner Gordon nearly a month to come over and attempt to fix the odometer. Well that did not work either so I requested the scooter I had initially purchased. After about a week he finally came with the first scooter I had picked out.

After a week with this scooter it did not start either. At this point I just preferred my money back. I texted him regarding the matter and he stated that it was as is and if I posted any negative reviews about his business he would sue me for slander. I have texts to prove that the initial scooter barely worked and now I have proof this one does not work.

For those of us that are continuously getting ripped off by these con artists, Report them to the BBB. File cases in small claims court. Even if we lose, the negative publicity they will endure will hopefully cause them to change their business protocol. He is texting me as we speak telling me he is going to post all my info. DO NOT RENT OR PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. I even asked him to meet me in person to discuss this like men and he threatened me by saying I would not land on my feet. And I am in the tourism business here in Savannah. Guess who will NEVER get a recommendation from my company.?

Ms. Gallion: It’s unfortunate that you have not received any satisfaction concerning this company doing business as Mogo Scooters. May we suggest that you contact them again at the address noted in the article to ask for your check, and let us know their response as another post on this page. Thank you very much for your comments.

PissedoffNrippedoff: Yours isn’t the first complaint posted against this company since we did the feature in Feb. 2010. Thank you for letting our readers know about your unsatisfactory experience with them – your comments are very much appreciated.

I know the owner of Mogo’s and she is definitely unprofessional and only cares about the money. No wonder there are so many bad reviews!
