Coastal Amateur Radio Society Meeting in June – TheTybeeTimes.net

Interested in Ham Radio?

This month the Coastal Amateur Radio Society (CARS) meeting will be held Monday night, June 5th, starting at 7:00 PM at the the White Bluff Presbyterian Church, 10710 White Bluff Rd, Savannah, GA. The general public is always welcome to our meetings, they are always informational and fun for all ages. You do not have to be a licensed ham operator to attend. This month our presentation will be on hurricane preparedness as it pertains to amateur radio.

We will also be participating over the last weekend in June along with 40,000 ham operators in the US and Canada during the annual ARRL Field Day. By using emergency generators and battery power, and temporary antennas, it will be a great way to practice our emergency preparedness and technical skills. This would be another good opportunity for everyone interested to come out and see just what Amateur radio is all about.
