“Low-Country Boil Fund Raiser,” April 10th, 2010

Scores of supporters visited Tybee’s Memorial Park and proudly watched as Tybee vets celebrated the dedication of the Tybee Veterans Circle of Freedom Monument on Saturday, April 10th. Veterans from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces including Tybee monument representatives Ronnie Tatum, Jimmy Carter, Carl Conaway watched as the long-awaited Tybee Veterans Monument was decorated and honored by the raising of respective affiliate flags.

Mayor Jason Buelterman addressed the crowd and stressed the heroics of America’s brave men and women serving in the armed services.  Commander George Walker of Post 154 American Legion, Master of Ceremonies pointed out that the monument will serve as a reminder to the community and deserves respect and continued financial support on behalf of local veterans.

After the ceremony, veterans and their guests continued the celebration with a “Low-country Boil Fundraiser” in Memorial Park. The festivities were well attended!
