January 2019

Happy New Year, folks!

After a great 10-year run and much deliberation, we have made the decision to archive the contents of The Tybee Times website on January 5th. The site will remain open for browsing, but articles/photos will be closed to comments and no new content will be posted.

Our *Facebook and **Twitter pages, however, will remain active.

Many thanks for your continued support!

All the best for 2019!

WELCOME to The Tybee Times – a totally FREE online publication!

Your source for all things lowcountry and beyond on the web.

Here you’ll find information for/about Tybee Island, and the greater Coastal Empire, and the special people who live here.

As we enter our tenth year, we no longer operate as a business or publish a printed edition with monthly articles, columns, and paid advertising, nor do we offer subscriber services or email broadcasts. Instead, we continue to host direct links to third-party publishers of current local and regional news, as well as articles by volunteer freelance contributors, and original news and editorial content when the need arises or the mood strikes us. Our archived content also contains columns, feature stories, and photos that appeared in past printed editions, including some of which were published before this website was created. (January – December 2009)

All posts are hosted as a public service, and all advertisements are complimentary. We accept no advertising dollars.

Our presence on social networking sites continues to grow – a combined audience of over 35,000 members/followers … and counting.

As always,

Thanks for reading, … and best wishes for 2018!
